Picturegoer Photo Post Card

Friday, July 24th, 2009

This is a real treat. A photo  post card from the magazine “Picturegoer” – a British publication.  I am always tickled or fascinated by the memorabilia that comes from other countries.  Again, there is no date, just Betty Field and her studio Paramount – but the photo suggests to me  that it is around the [...]

4 photo Victory Lot

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Wow! My biggest acquisition of scene photos for Victory! (1940) that starred Betty Field and Fredric March in the leading roles of Joseph Conrad’s novel. Also starred Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Jerome Cowan, Sig Rumann, Margaret Wycherly, and Fritz Feld.

Betty Field of Paramount Studios circa. 1940

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Several photos are very much publicity photos – hard to identify because they basically just state the actress and studio she worked at.  I  am assuming I  had previously segmented it out to the  ‘Victory’  movie section because of a publicity blurb on the back.  So it falls before or after Victory and around 1940.

Betty Field in 1940 (Victory, Seventeen)

Friday, May 30th, 2008

This pose is just sultry! Sorry the photo is blurry. Typically I don’t bother to retake them. Usually I categorize photos by date or movie -  it involves a lot of guess work, but sometimes the clothes or  the advertising blurbs on the back of the photos help to place them.

Betty in the Great Moment

I am seeing more and more photos in hoop skirt dresses for the movie “The Great Moment” but I don’t recall seeing her in most of them.
